Who we are
alt-it.org is published by Captivated Ltd ("we", "us"), the data controller for the personal data described here. Captivated Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, reference ZC010118. Visiting the site
Like any web server, ours receives technical data with each request, including your IP address and your browser's user-agent string. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes this data for us to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Cloudflare acts as our data processor under contract. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
We set no cookies and use no local storage. Our pages load nothing from other sites: no analytics, advertising or social-media scripts, and no externally hosted fonts.
Search
Search runs entirely in your browser, using an index downloaded from our own site. What you type is never sent to us or anyone else.
Emailing us
If you email us, for example to report an error, we use your message and address to reply and to fix the page. We keep them for as long as we need to deal with your message. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you and keeping the site accurate.
Links to other sites
Listings link to vendors' own sites and sources. Once you follow a link, that site's privacy policy applies. Some links are affiliate links, labelled as such; we set no cookie when you click one.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email hello@alt-it.org.
If you believe we have mishandled your data, you can complain to the UK's supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

We'll update this page before we change what data the site handles. The date at the top shows the current version.
