How we label commercial content
Anything someone paid for, or that earns us money, is labelled wherever it appears: on cards, category pages, search results, our RSS feed and our newsletter. Money never decides what we list, how we describe it, or the order it appears in.
Sponsored
- Sponsored
A listing the vendor paid to place. It sits in a separate "From our sponsors" area, never in the editorial catalogue. If we also have an editorial listing for the product, the sponsored one links to it, and our editorial listing keeps its full risks and mitigations.
Affiliate link
- Affiliate link
We may earn a commission if you buy through the link, at no cost to you. Products without affiliate schemes, including most open-source software, are listed on equal terms.
Made by our publisher
- Made by our publisher
A product made by our publisher or a related company. It gets the same risks and mitigations block as every other listing.
